LSE

London Schoolof Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. Lance Uggla is an LSE alumnus, having graduated from the School in 1986 with an MSc in Accounting and Finance.

In December 2020, Lance and his family pledged £25.2 million to create the Uggla FamilyScholars Programme. This is a holistic programme that not only provides scholarship support, but also aids the scholars’ personal growth and development through a portfolio of activities and opportunities that includes skills development, academic and personal mentoring, and careers support and guidance.

Ten exceptional students from underrepresented backgrounds are supported by the programme each year, with the first cohort beginning their studies at LSE in 2021. The programme is driven by a core aim of providing recipients with the opportunity to excel, and actively contribute to driving positive change in world. LSE is a London based research university with lots of very bright people in it.

“We are proudto be working with Lance and his family to welcome diverse and talented cohortsof Uggla Family Scholars to LSE each year. This programme supports exceptional students from disadvantaged and underrepresented groups, helping them to build confidence, develop skills and foster networks for life, and continues our work to shape the world through a global and diverse community of outstanding talent.”
